Breakbeat Tapestries Origin

Breakbeat Tapestries as a label, came about after I finished my second album for Inperspective Records. I heard Chris (INP) in an interview describing the style of the tunes as a breakbeat tapestry. I had a lot of fun making those grooves which spilled out and took a left and landed into The Porkchop Tape and Snares N' Roses. Those two didn't fit in with the Digital Wreka traditional DnB grooves, so here we are.

The logo came from these fixed up scissors I found in my dad's art room when I visited back home in between pandemic lock downs. The repair job is pure genius with the plastic hanger hook replacing the broken handle!

Yard Remixes

I had no plans on remixing 'Yard', a track I made around the time just before the V.illin Mills album cuts started coming around I'd say 2006-ish. I had forgotten about it also till around 2018? when I heard Code play it on his Subtle Audio Radio show. He sent me the original tune shortly after as I had no file of it.

Fast forward a few years, Greenleaf hit me up checking if he could do a remix. I promptly agreed because he's been consistently making some of the dopest Drumfunk for some time now and it'd be a big honour to get the remix treatment. I just realized while writing this, that this would be the first time someone remixed one of my tunes! His remix sparked the heavy Krugah Tenement Yaad version which stays in constant rotation on DJ's playlists. So huge shout outs to Greenleaf for hearing something more in the original. I ended up making 2 remixes, opting to go for something more steppier as a breather between the breakbeat choppage versions. The prolific Opius stepped up in fine form to round out the EP with his rapid-fire rhythmic edit style. Yard Remixes out now on Wrekanise Recordings.
